Players can equip armor sets to protect them when under threat. As with many of the best survival games, there are lots of different armor sets that offer better stats the higher up the hierarchy players go. Knowing the order of armor sets is important as it can help a player to keep in mind what they should be building towards.
6 Wood Armor
Wood Armor grants the player basic protection and is the first armor set that they will come across. It is very easy to obtain and cheap to produce, being produced at the Copper Anvil for 29 Wood for the entire set. That are many survival games with rough early-game, but players don’t have to worry about that being the case with Core Keeper.
Unlike the other armor sets available in Core Keeper, there are no bonuses rewarded to the player for wearing the entire set. While it is worth crafting the Wood Armor to give some extra protection against villains encountered in the underground cave, players should look to move on to a better armor set as soon as possible.
5 Copper Armor
Copper Armor is the first decent set of armor a player can obtain, and it is not too difficult to find a copious amount of Copper close to the spawning area. The entire set of Copper Armor costs 28 Copper Bars to craft, but players will be disappointed to learn that it does not have any set bonuses. Newcomers to the survival genre will perhaps be less bothered about the lack of set bonuses, and simply be glad that their overall base protection is better.

Players will have learned quickly that Wood Armor doesn’t do much for them, which is why moving on to a better piece of armor is advised. The same is true with Copper Armor, players should look to move on when they can, but it is a decent enough set of armor to allow the player to start stockpiling better resources with some protection before they buy any further armor sets.
4 Bronze Armor
Bronze Armor is a mid-game level of armor and starts to offer some real protection to players. It can be drafted on the Tin Anvil, and unlike other sets requires 2 Metals to craft. The set will cost the player 15 Tin Bars, 15 Copper Bars, and 12 Fibre for the set. While there are no set bonuses for this armor, each piece of armor gives a bonus individually. The helmet gives a bonus to mining damage, the breastplate provides a bonus to melee damage and the pants give a bonus to ranged damage.
Players will of course want to move onto a better armor set at some point, but Bronze Armor can last the player for quite a while and offers good protection against lower-leveled mobs. Bronze Armor is a stable of the genre, appearing in many of the most influential survival games.
3 Iron Armor
The Iron Armor is slightly better than Bronze Armor, making it a great choice for players in the early game who need protection from increasingly difficult mobs. The Iron Armor set is crafted at the Iron Anvil and like Bronze Armor takes 2 Metals to craft. In total, the set will require 38 Iron Bars, 6 Gold Bars, and 17 Fibres to craft.

On top of each piece of armor giving the player a bonus to their Overall Damage, the Iron Armor set also has a set bonus. When all 3 pieces of the set were worn, the player will get a 19 % additional armor bonus at low health. Core Keeper’s pace of progression makes it a fun and underrated survival game.
2 Carapace Armor
The Carapace Armor is one of the best armor sets in the game and one that players can stick around in for many hours before they need to upgrade any further. The Carapace Armor set can be crafted after the player defeats Ghorm the Devourer by placing its crystal in its statue by the core. The armor set only has 2 pieces and will set the player back 21 Tin Bars, 9 Larvas Meat, 14 Slime, and 11 Fibre.
Each piece of armor gives the player a bonus to explosive damage and wearing both pieces gives the player a 24.3 % damage bonus for a short duration after mining a wall. This armor is great for exploration and helping the player to deal with any enemies they find on their way. It’s a classic survival game mistake to try to simply ignore or evade mobs, and the Carapace Armor makes it so that the player doesn’t have to.
1 Scarlet Armor
Scarlet Armor is currently the best armor set in the game and goes well when matched with Core Keeper’s best weapons. The player can craft the Scarlet Armor at the Scarlet Anvil, with the set costing 47 Scarlet Bars, 9 Iron Bars, and 21 Fibre to craft. Each piece of the Scarlet Armor gives a bonus to critical hit chance and when worn all at once, the player will be provided with a bonus to Critical Hit Chance, which is triggered by killing an enemy and can stack 5 times.
The Scarlet Armor is more of an offensive-based armor set compared to the others available in the game, and its protection makes it a mandatory set of items for the player to eventually obtain.
